What RankBits Collects

RankBits stores the account details you provide, scanned domains and URLs, generated or custom prompts, selected engines, AI answers, citations, source URLs, visibility scores, scan history, tracking preferences, exports, and usage/cost diagnostics needed to run the service.

How Scans Work

When you run a scan, RankBits may fetch the submitted website, generate prompt ideas, query AI engines and search providers, analyze mentions and citations, and store the resulting report. Scheduled tracking repeats the same scan setup according to your selected cadence and plan limits.

Third-Party Providers

RankBits sends scan prompts and relevant context to configured AI and search providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Perplexity, SearchApi, Tavily, Exa, Google Search, and Bing Search. Their handling of submitted prompts and returned results is governed by their own policies.

Public and Private Reports

Scans are private by default unless public sharing is enabled for that report. Public reports can be viewed by anyone with the link. Private reports are limited to the owner, authorized administrators, or the original anonymous browser session where applicable.

Operational Data

RankBits logs LLM request previews, response previews, errors, latency, token counts, and estimated costs for debugging, abuse prevention, product limits, and reliability. API keys are read from server environment configuration and are not shown to ordinary users.

Your Choices

You can hide scans from your dashboard, pause or resume tracking, change tracking frequency, rename tracked scans, and disable public sharing when your plan allows sharing. Hidden scans are excluded from dashboard/history views, though data may remain stored for operational integrity and analytics.
